MUG CHECK !!!!!
Gardener of the San Diego Padres Tommy Pham On Tuesday I threw a direct pitch to the ding dong area, AND YOU KNOW YOU’RE LISTENING JUST BY READING THIS!
Talk about a ball breaking, huh?
Pham was facing the reliever of the SF Giants Sam Coonrod at the top of the eighth, when a slider slipped a little too far and hit Tommy right in the man’s trash
The launch was recorded at 86 MPH, which isn’t exactly slow, but somehow, Pham wasn’t hurt.
In fact, he handled the situation so well that Pham received props from the Giants analyst. Mike Krukow in transmission
“Oh man. Tommy Pham, you’re a better man than me,” said Krukow. “I would be making snow angels in the batting box on that one.”
Pham ran the bases himself after HBP … but was removed from the game shortly thereafter in the bottom of the 8th.
Fortunately, the manager of the Padres Jayce Tingler He said it was removed for precautionary reasons … and is expected to be fine in the future.
After the game, Pham joked about the incident on Instagram and said, “The race is almost over.”
Type. Too soon.
