MLB Opening Day Schedule, Scores, Live Updates: Astros-Mariners, Dodgers-Giants at Night Slate

The 2020 MLB regular season began Thursday night with a two-game roster with the Yankees-Nationals and Dodgers-Giants. On Friday, however, it will offer baseball fans a true Opening Day, with all but the Yankees and Nats set to return to the diamond. The Mets had an early victory over the Braves when Yoenis Céspedes provided the game’s only run, and Kyle Hendricks pitched a full game for the Cubs against the Brewers. The action continues with the Angels-A and Astros-Mariners between night games.

Baseball fans have waited nearly four months for the return of the games after the 2020 season was delayed due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Among the highlights of Opening Day: The Texas Rangers will play their first game at the new Globe Life Field on Friday when they host the Colorado Rockies; and Madison Bumgarner will debut as a Diamondback after signing a five-year, $ 85 million contract this winter in her opening game against the Padres. Our RJ Anderson ranked every 2020 Opening Day matchup, and our Mike Axisa ranked every opening Day opening kickoff matchup.
