MLB Gold Glove 2020: Dodgers ‘Mocky Bates, Cubs’ Anthony Rizzo among Big Winners

November is the award season for Major League Baseball. On Tuesday night, with the league announcing the winners for the 2020 Gold Glove Awards, the MLB started things off.

Unlike the normal season, this year’s Rawlings Baseball Gold Gloves were not decided by manager and coach polls; Instead, they are being determined by numbers and numbers alone because the regional timetable prevents those voters from getting the right look for each candidate in their respective league.

The player at each position in each league wins, giving us 18 winners in all.

There were 11 first-time Gold Glove winners this year, including White Sox rookie Louise Robert. Nolan Arenado and Alex Gordon claimed the eighth gold glove of their careers at the end of the second in a row. In the case of Gordon, who has already announced his retirement, he takes the gold glove home in his final big league season. Meanwhile, Mookie Bates won his fifth gold glove and first as a national leguer. At the team level, the Indians, Rangers, Cubs and Cardinals both got two winners for 2020.
