Republican Sen. At least one protester was arrested after a group of about 100 people gathered outside a Kentucky home in Michigan.
The leader of the Senate majority is a key figure in determining whether the late Justice Ruth Bader will succeed Ginsberg in the Supreme Court ahead of election day, the nominee appointed by President Trump.
“Ruth sent us,” and “no ethics shame,” read some of the signals carried out by mob members in Louisville, local Fox station WDRB-TV reported.
“Hey-hey, ho-ho, Mitch McConnell is going to go,” the others said.
Leading from both sides of the fire for pre-statements about eleven nominees
Reports of whether McConnell was in Kentucky or Washington on Saturday were unclear.
In addition to the fight over court vacancies, McConnell, a member of the Senate since 1985 – C78, will also face re-election at the Kentucky November polls.
The Courier Journal of Louisville reported that one protester was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and improper parking.
After facing the construction of her vehicle, the woman went inside the store and bought a six-pack of beer, but police arrested her anyway, the report said.
The arrest prompted other protesters to start chanting and a member of the crowd smashed a glass door, damaging it, the newspaper said.
Other protesters agreed to move vehicles blocking traffic on a nearby street following a police request.
Any Supreme Court nominee chosen by Trump must be confirmed by the GOP-led Senate before joining the court on a lifetime visit. The proceedings include a confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
As Senate leader, McConnell will decide when to vote on the nomination. Democrats and some Republicans have argued that any vote on the Trump court election on Nov. 3. There should be a delay until after the presidential election.

But months after the 2016 election between Trump and Hillary Clinton, McConnell faced criticism from former President Barack Obama for his 2016 decision to reject the Senate vote on his high court selection, Merrick Garland.
In his Senate race, McConnell is seeking a seventh term. He is facing Democrat Amy McGrath, a former U.S. Marine Corps fighter pilot.
McGrath showed McGrath a double-digit lead in the new Quinnipiac University poll announced last week, according to the Courier Journal.
