Bad news, everyone. The Minnesota Twins made a bunch of roster moves for tonight’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers. Here is the low-down:
- Let’s face it – Byron Buxton is back on the injured list. The culprit: inflammation of left shoulder. Buck has been on fire lately, hitting .264 / .255 / .566 (.821) since August 4, which is probably not that impressive, but he also hit five homers and 11 RBIs during that time.
-
Mitch Garver was pulled from the game after the seventh inning yesterday when he grabbed on a right-hander after an at-bat. He also landed on the IL with an intercostal strain. He hurt on the plate this year, scraping a .154 / .262 / .212 (.474) batting line with a homer and two RBIs.
- Southpaw Lewis Thorpe saved the bullpen yesterday in a way (4 IP, 4 ER, 3 BB, 3 K, 2 HR) and is saved for St Paul. The Aussie is also struggling this season, placing a 6.14 ERA / 7.30 FIP in 14.2 innings of work. He is now out of options.
- The twins have rightfully recovered Zach Littell. We are aware of his accomplishments so far this season.
- Minnesota needed a catcher, so they bought Ryan Jeffers’ contract. He will make his premier class debut behind the plate tonight. Between High-A Fort Myers and Double-A Pensacola last season, he hit .264 / .341 / .421 (.762) with 14 homers and 49 RBIs in 103 games.
- LaMonte Wade Jr. is back in the major. He has only made one appearance this season as a defensive replacement at first base earlier in the year.
