Millie Bobby Brown would make a great Kitty Pryde in the MCU, according to fans

Fans have been waiting for the X-Men to make an appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the operative word is “long.” Long before the pandemic began, fans knew it would be a long time before the Mutants that people know and loved went to Disney. Marvel boss Kevin Feige said so.

With that being the case, fans have been dream cast actors who eventually hope to see it in the movie once Marvel really does. One of those actors already has experience with superhuman abilities: Millie Bobby Brown of Strange things.

Who is Kitty Pryde and who played her before?

In very simplistic terms, Kitty Pryde is “the one who can break through walls” in the X Men movies, though her powers are more complex than being like a ghost. She has the ability to do a phase to make herself or people with whom she comes into intangible contact. This also allows him to simulate levitation, making it like a more benign version of Jean Gray.

Kitty Pryde didn’t do much in the movies at first, being relegated to background appearances. In the first two X-Men movies, the role of “young lady” was played by Anna Paquin’s Rogue, who has the ability to absorb energy from other mutants, making her particularly deadly to enemies and sadly herself. Kitty Pryde began to have a more prominent role in the third X-Men movie, The last battle, when Ellen Page took over the role.

Kitty Pryde had her biggest movie role X-Men: Days of Future Past, when he used his powers to help Wolverine travel back in time to the past to prevent Mystique from killing someone and leaving the mutants on a very dark and dangerous path. Interestingly, there is an extended version of that movie where Rogue takes over Kitty after Wolverine accidentally injured Kitty. Rogue barely appeared in the stage version. But be it Rogue or Kitty Pryde, the X Men Films have thrived with the presence of an actress in her teens or early 20s.

Why do fans think Millie Bobby Brown would be a good Kitty Pryde?

In a Reddit thread about dream casting roles, fans were asked to focus on characters not yet seen in the MCU. At least two fans chose Millie Bobby Brown. The complete list went like this:

John Krasinski – Reed Richards

Emily Blunt – Sue Storm

Zac Efron – Johnny Storm

John Cena – Ben Grimm

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau – Victor Von Doom

Ralph Fiennes – Professor X

Viggo Mortensen – Magneto

Daniel Radcliffe – Wolverine

Cyclops – Taron Egerton

Jean Gray – Saoirse Ronan

Iceman – Brandon Flynn

Kitty Pryde – Millie Bobby Brown

Rogue – Elizabeth Gillies

Gambit – Gaspard Ulliel

Mystique – Ana De Armas

Beast – Joel Edgerton

Angel – Alexander Ludwig

Ms. Marvel – Sophia Taylor Ali or Saara Chaudry

Moon Knight – Shia Labeouf

She-Hulk – Anne Hathaway

Spider-Woman – Daisy Ridley

Kate Bishop – Liana Ramirez

Fans undoubtedly took over Brown due to her role as Eleven, the girl haunted by a mysterious past and blessed / cursed with powers, including telekinesis and the ability to communicate through dimensions. In the most recent season of Strange thingsEleven’s abilities were put to their harshest test when the final battle against the monstrous Mind Flayer (temporarily?) Stripped her of her powers. In addition to that, she had to face the apparent death of her father figure, Hopper.

Would this be another version of Eleven from ‘Stranger Things’?

Given Eleven’s abilities, she’s already a sort of alternate version of Kitty Pryde, so one wonders if throwing Brown would be too “up her nose”. Maybe not. As it happens, Brown nearly joined the X-Men, having auditioned for the role of Laura AKA X-23, Wolverine’s wild young charge in Logan.

Brown didn’t get the role, which was for Dafne Keen, and Brown was kind to tell Variety that Keen was “amazing” on paper. He then gained experience in a great different franchise movie, starring. Godzilla: king of the monsters. It’s also set to appear in the sequel, Godzilla vs. Kong. Like the rising star of Strange things, Brown has a bright future even if he’s not Kitty Pryde in the end.
