It has been a challenging day for Vice President Mike Pence when he visits western Pennsylvania.
Several vehicles in the Pence caravan had two minor accidents on Thursday, according to reports from the pool.
First, Pence’s field bus hit a dump truck while backing up. “Her son saw a large dump truck with a driver’s side fender hit. The driver is now consulting with police in a nearby parking lot,” wrote Pool Reporter Elizabeth Crisp, a Newsweek Washington correspondent.
That required Pence to move from the bus to his limo.
Later in the morning, two motorcycle escorts with Pence’s caravan crashed. Ambulances were on the scene, according to the pool report, but no serious injuries were reported.
Pence is in the Pittsburgh area today, campaigning for President Trump.
It is not the first time that Pence’s motorcade has had problems in the United States. In September last year, some were enraged when Pence’s eight-car caravan descended on a carless island in northern Michigan. “The message, heard loud and clear, is that Trump and Pence will do what they want, no matter what Michigan kids think,” Michigander Chris Young told Business Insider at the time. “Let them eat cake.”
