Indians right hand Mike Clevinger has corrupted its coronavirus protocols, the team announced (via Ryan Lewis of Ohio.com). Clevinger was due to start for the Indians against the Cubs on Tuesday, but they will go with fellow judge Adam Plutko instead.
The Clevinger offense came on the road this weekend against the White Sox, as did other starters Zach Plesac‘s. It turns out that the two were together in the city of Chicago, Jeff Passan of ESPN tweets. The Indians eventually ended up firing Plesac from the team on a temporary basis. Clevinger, for his part, has to undergo 72 hours of quarantine and negative testing for the coronavirus on multiple occasions before he is eligible to rejoin the club.
The main hope is that none of the decisions of these players will negatively affect others, including their teammates. On the field, the two previously effective parts have been part of the rotation of the Indians. Clevinger has been offering the Indians the results of the front lines in general since 2017.
