Microsoft’s Smith spoke to the House antitrust committee: report


CEOs of major tech companies will be questioned on Capitol Hill next week by an antitrust subcommittee in the House of Representatives.

Jeff Bezos of Amazon, Tim Cook of Apple, Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook and Sundar Pichai of Google will appear on July 27.

The committee has reportedly already spoken to another technology executive before the meeting.

Brad Smith, president and chief legal officer of Microsoft, was interviewed by video conference, according to The Information.

BEZOS WILLING TO TESTIFY IN ANTITRUST CONGRESSIONAL INVESTIGATION

The information went on to say that the Microsoft executive discussed his company’s concerns about how Apple operates its App Store.

Regulators from both the US and Europe have been looking at that Apple-related issue.

The hearing is part of an ongoing investigation into competition in the digital market.
