Windows 10 has been around for five years, and while Microsoft has made a number of big changes over the years, the Start menu doesn’t look much different than it did when the OS debuted in 2015.
However, that is about to change. Microsoft plans to review the menu, and has released a series of new images to give us a clearer idea of what it will look like.

Posted on the Microsoft 365 Facebook page, the images show a much cleaner start menu with a translucent background and new fluid design icons. While Live Tiles is still part of the design, they integrate much better here.
Although we’ve seen several superior Start menu designs in the many Windows 10/11/20 concepts we’ve covered here previously, the new version from Microsoft strikes me as a great improvement.
It is unknown when exactly we can expect to get the new Start menu, but the fact that Microsoft is now freely sharing more images suggests that we shouldn’t have to wait too long.
