Microsoft’s new Edge browser crashes randomly when users type in the address bar tonight. The issues appear to be affecting Edge users who have selected Google as their default search engine. Microsoft says it is aware of the issues and that the company’s Edge team is investigating.
Microsoft recommends turning off Search Tips at edge: // settings / search. The edge You have tried this workaround and it solves the problem if you have Google set as your default search engine.

Microsoft Edge crashes started around 7 p.m. ET, and are affecting macOS and Windows users. However, it is unclear why they are only limited to Google search users on Edge. If you switch to the Microsoft Bing search engine within Edge, no crashes occur.
