Microsoft to Close Stores in Danbury, Farmington in Change of Strategy
With rival Apple continuing to invest in its retail stores in Connecticut and elsewhere, Microsoft is closing its own at a cost of $ 450 million.
In Connecticut, Microsoft has stores at Danbury Fair Mall and Westfarms Mall in Farmington. Microsoft has yet to reopen its stores since the forced closings of the coronavirus pandemic.
As in the case of Apple, Microsoft has offered hardware and software support through help desks within its stores, as well as game stations and other product demos. The company stated that it will offer new positions to all store employees.
