Microsoft negotiated to buy Bungie

Microsoft .ft and Bungi have held acquisition talks, according to a new report, which could support Eurogamer’s own sources.

Destiny and the former Halo developer are completely independent since he left his previous release deal with Activision last year.

Speaking on the GamesBet podcast, VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb said he had heard that MicroSt.

I have listened to these negotiations independently, running on the side of the bungee with a desire to raise new funds for the studio, its projects and staff.

P The Studio recently committed to a new three-year development plan for Destiny 2, while quietly promoting ideas for its future – previously augmented by m 100m injections from Chinese publisher Netiz.

But Bungie doesn’t get cheap – Destiny got some activation on its partnership with the creator, and one reason the publisher was finally happy to walk away. I understand that Micro .ft has not yet been able to agree on its asking price.

Of course, any potential acquisitions by MicroSFT would mark a return home for Bungie. Prior to Destiny, Bungie Halo was famous for its work on the series, which quickly became the Xbox’s flagship franchise, and since then it has faced mixed fortunes.

Microsoft originally bought Bungie in 2000, when it went through the development of Halo: Combat Evolution for the original Xbox. This was followed by four sequels, although the two companies had split since the release of Halo 3: ODST in 2009. Halo of 2010: Before Reach first released Destiny in 2014, Bungi helped Swansong create the franchise that helped build it, and began a four-year release period for the studio in 2014.

This November, Destiny 2 will begin its fourth year, shortly after, with the arrival of new and expanded Beyond Lite on current and next-gen-consoles. Since its departure from Acquisition, Bungie has abandoned its previous arrangement where parts of each new Destiny game and expansion were first introduced on the PlayStation platform – a long-time bugber for Xbox owners.

Then, in July of this year, Bungie and Microsoft announced that the next Beyond Lite would launch directly on the Xbox One X Game Pass, creating a new causation for both companies. Destiny 2 and its current expansion Forsaken and ShadowKit are now also available through the MicroSt. Subscription service.

I have contacted Micro .ft and Bungi for comment.
