Here is the complete changelog of Windows 10 Build 20180
What is new in Build 20180?
We are activating many of the new features mentioned on July 1 in Build 20161, including themed tiles in Start. The new pinned sites capability mentioned with last week’s Build 20175 flight is still only available to a subset of Insiders.
Developer updates
The Windows SDK is now continuously flying with the Dev Channel. Every time a new OS build is flown to the development channel, the corresponding SDK will also be flown. You can always install the latest Insider SDK from aka.ms/InsiderSDK. SDK flights will be archived in Flight Hub along with OS flights.
Windows 10 build 20180: changes and improvements
- Based on the feedback, we’re changing the tablet’s posture logic for 2-in-1 devices so that it now only applies when using a single screen.
- Based on the comments, we’re updating the new folder icon in the All Apps list on the Start menu to make it a little smaller, so it aligns better with the size of the other icons.
- We’ve updated the search box on the Default Apps settings pages to improve performance.
Windows 10 build 20180: fixes
- We fixed an issue on the last flight where Magnifier did not follow the cursor in the previous build when the zoom was greater than 100%.
- We fixed an issue where Task Manager was not displaying the publisher name for UWP apps.
- We fixed an issue using the Pinyin IME where playing “/” on the keyboard would not produce the correct character when using full width mode.
- We fixed a couple of issues that could lead to crashes when using Alt + Tab to switch to browser tabs.
Build 20180: Known Issues
- We are working to fix an issue where some Microsoft Store games protected with Easy Anti-Cheat may fail to start.
- We are looking for reports that the update process hangs for long periods of time when trying to install a new build.
- We are working on a solution for an issue where the min / max / close buttons are stuck in their original positions after resizing a UWP application. If you move the application window, the position should be updated.
- We are investigating reports that the new taskbar experience described above does not work for some pinned sites.
- We are working to fix an issue where sometimes the “close all windows” action on the taskbar does not close not all open tabs
- We are working on a solution to enable live preview of pinned site tabs.
- We are working to enable the new taskbar experience for existing pinned sites. In the meantime, you can unpin the site from the taskbar, remove it from the edge: // apps page, and then dock the site again.
- We are working to resolve an issue where pinned sites do not display all open tabs for a domain. In the meantime, you can fix this by setting the site home page instead of a specific page (for example, pin microsoft.com instead of microsoft.com/windows).
- We are working on a solution for an issue where Alt + Tab on a browser tab sometimes moves the previously active browser tab to the front of the Alt + Tab list.
- Opening a WSL 1 distribution may result in the error: ‘The I / O operation has been canceled due to a thread exit or an application request’. Check this edition of Github for the latest updates.
