MinecraftEarlier this year, Nvidia’s RTX graphics cards were flooded with messy aesthetics with the introduction of enabled ray tracing. And now, that feature is coming out of beta, and path-traced ray tracing is available for all Windows 10 Minecraft Players with GPUs supporting it, Nvidia announced in a blog post on Tuesday.
If you missed beta or other examples in 2020, Ray Tracing allows real, physics-based lighting in games. Minecraft Traditionally pixel art, the sandbox strips away reality in favor of a fantasy aesthetic, but the pair work well here. Changes in lighting, water shadows, light sources, and dynamics are immediately noticeable in responses to different intensities of light.
Along with lighting, RTX ray tracing also allows for more detailed “body-based rendering” (PBR) in texture packs, including the ability to set the relative reflectivity of each of the objects. Minecraft Players on Windows 10 will have access to a special PBR version of the default texture pack for use when playing, or until their favorite manufacturer releases their own updated pack.
Playing the game with Ray tracing seems like a big blow to performance, but Nvidia says DLSS 2.0 support on RTX cards used for DTS learning super sampling should continue at a higher frame rate.
To save time for rendering high-resolution images using artificial intelligence, RTX 2060 owners can get about 60 frames by playing seconds in Nvidia’s quality mode at 1920 x 1080 resolution. Enfidia says players with GeForce RTX 3080 and 3090 cards should be able to “well over” by playing 60 fps in 4K. All of these benchmarks were set under Nvidia’s specific testing conditions which can be seen on their blog.
You will need at least one Gif orce RTX 2060 or higher to run Minecraft With ray tracing, and relying on old cards can be your new bet if you know how difficult it can be to get a new 30 series.
