Apparently out of nowhere, Mickey Rourke has rekindled a decades-long fight with Robert De Niro, even threatening to “severely” embarrass the “Raging Bull” actor.
Mickey took to Instagram on Friday to share an outrageous protest about Robert, saying he heard Robert was speaking ill of him.
By posting a photo of the famous actor, Mickey called Robert a “big cry baby.”
The “The Wrestler” actor said he heard from a friend that Robert called him a “liar” to the media, although Mickey does not indicate who told him this, nor the newspaper that allegedly launched the insult. The men are believed to have had a disagreement over 2019’s “The Irishman”.
“Listen to Mr. Tough Guy in the movies, you are the first person to call me a liar and it was in a newspaper,” Mickey wrote. “Let me tell you something, punk a – when I see you, I swear to God on my grandmother, on my brother and all my dogs, I will shame you 100% severely.”
He signed the publication, “Mickey Rourke as God is my witness.”
In the comment section of the post, Mickey did not back down and wrote, “I am moving back to New York in [next] few months this meeting sure [happen]”
Robert lives in New York City, although he plans to stay in New York State due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Last year, Mickey claimed that Robert was essentially preventing him from having a role in “The Irishman.”
“Marty Scorsese wanted to meet me for a movie with Al Pacino, Joe Pesci and Robert De Niro,” Mickey told the Italian program “Live – Non e la D’Urso.” in September 2019. “The cast person told my manager that Robert De Niro said he refused to work with me on a movie.”
However, a representative for Robert said Mickey was never considered for any role in the Netflix movie.
The men worked together in 1987 on “Angel Heart”, and that’s where the bad blood started. Mickey alleged that Robert was not kind to him on set.
“My feelings hurt a little because I admired him,” Mickey said last year. “I no longer admire him. I look through him. He doesn’t forget what happened 20 years ago. Because they have a saying, ‘I took him to school’ before any other actor.”
