Michigan Offers Ohio State Commitment


The Buckeyes went to the state of Louisiana to get their first engagement of 2022, cornerback Jyaire Brown who at the time was in New Orleans (La.) Warren Easton. Brown announced that he was committed to the state of Ohio on April 22.

The 6 foot 0 and 165 pounds Brown had a list of more than 20 scholarship offers that in addition to the state of Ohio included LSU, Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Georgia, Alabama, Michigan State, Florida State and many other schools. Starting today, it now includes another offer.

“Beyond BLESSED AND HUMBLE for having received an offer from the University of Michigan,” Brown posted on his Twitter account this afternoon.

Brown has gotten several new scholarship offers in the past few weeks.

On June 9, Brown let everyone know that he was leaving Louisiana and heading to Ohio while moving to West Chester, Ohio, Lakota West High School. Brown posted the news on his Twitter account that day. Now a teammate with another Ohio State 2022 pledge, offensive lineman Tegra Tshabola.

Brown had been to Ohio even before announcing his move and was spending time with Tshabola. Brown was born in Ohio and lived in Cincinnati until he was four years old when he moved to Louisiana.

“I was, and still am to this day,” Brown said when asked previously about being an Ohio State fan. “(I like) the culture of the show. And they are just different. The only team with BI A. And I like to be different. “

While at the Elite Underclassmen Showcase in Obetz, Ohio, just south of Columbus on July 11, Brown also told Bucknuts that he was 100% committed to the state of Ohio. He said the same thing today after Michigan’s offer landed.

“Yes,” Brown said when asked if he was still 100% committed to the Buckeyes.

Brown is an outstanding athlete who has excellent coverage and reacts well when the ball is in the air. Ohio State Co-Defensive Coordinator and Defensive Back Coach Kerry Coombs has recruited Brown.

The 6 foot 0 and 165 pounds Brown is a 4-star prospect at 247Sports Composite. He is the nation’s 2022 general prospect in 2022, the 14th cornerback, and was the No. 3 prospect in Ohio.

The Buckeyes are off to a great start for their recruiting class in 2022 with commitments from Ohio’s No. 3 prospect in Brown, the No. 4 prospect in linebacker status. CJ Hicks, and prospect number 5 in Buckeye State is Tshabola.
