Michael McDowell to auction Bubba Wallace’s bumper for a good cause

FORT WORTH, Texas – Bubba Wallace still disagrees with Michael McDowell about what happened on the track, but is happy that his damaged bumper has good cause.

Wallace pulled out of the qualifying race for the NASCAR All-Star Race on Wednesday night in Bristol after McDowell turned his back on him while competing with William Byron. Wallace was later seen driving away after the damaged bumper was dropped off at the McDowell team carrier.

Since then, McDowell put the bumper on an online auction to raise money for Motor Racing Outreach.

“Thanks @BubbaWallace for the gift. I hope we can raise a lot of money for @FollowMRO,” McDowell wrote in a tweet about the auction.

The offer price was above $ 15,000 on Saturday afternoon.

“When life gives you lemons, suburbs and raises money for @FollowMRO. You may not agree with what happened along the way, but we can agree on a positive outcome of the situation,” Wallace tweeted.

After being eliminated from the qualifying race on Wednesday night and missing the chance to compete for $ 1 million in the main event in Bristol, Wallace said he didn’t need to see a replay because he knew McDowell’s contact was appalling.

“Just disrespect. When you hit the wall, I don’t even need to see a replay,” said Wallace. “People say he’s one of the nicest guys in the garage. I can’t wait for the God-fearing text he’ll send me about preaching, praise, and respect. What a joke.”
