Metallica concert airs in drive-in theaters, band announces


Metallica is set to bring a recording concert to fans, which will air in drive-in theaters in the United States and Canada.

The band took to social media on Monday to announce the news, which is part of Encore’s “Drive-In Nights” series.

“We’re bringing the Metallica live experience to a drive-in theater with you on August 29th with a big-screen concert presented by @encoredrivein,” the band said.

The August 29 event, which will be the band’s first show in almost a year, will also feature Three Days Grace as the opening act. It will be shot “at a location near the headquarters of Northern California” and will also be “edited and mixed by Metallica’s award-winning production team to the highest possible standards,” according to a press release.

In addition, the concert will feature material from her nearly 40-year career.

Each ticket for tickets, which allows one charge of up to six people, will include four digital downloads of Metallica’s upcoming album, “S & M2,” according to the band.

Tickets on sale in advance, which are available for Metallica’s Fifth Member fanclub, will go on sale on August 12, while general tickets will go on sale on August 14.
