Mercedes-Benz offers customers all color options, even non-manufactured colors.

The Mercedes-Benz Designo program is the velvet rope for the VIP lounge where customers receive Duesenberg levels of luxury by choosing exterior colors, leather types, upholstery and interior details in their new car. This week, Mercedes announced a new expansion of its Designo program that offers customers the option to choose any color in their historic catalog since the 1950s. The expansion of this program is a powerful move to gain a share of the ultra market. Rolls-Royce and Bentley luxury.

The Designo Manufaktur program is available on Mercedes-Benz S-Class, E-Class and AMG GT. When Mercedes says any color, it means any color of any model used in the past 70 years. That also applies to the interior with more leather options with contrasting stitching color combinations.

Exterior colors are not exclusive to Mercedes as customers can also request a color from another manufacturer as long as that color is “subject to confirmed availability”. So in theory a customer could order an S class in Lamborghini Verde or Porsche GT3 Lava Orange. Perfect for the luxury car buyer who has grown tired of seeing silver and black in the country club parking lot.

The Designo Manufaktur expansion includes a unique G-Class SUV-only program, providing customers with a palette of 34 exterior colors and 54 interior upholstery options that create millions of possible color combinations. Mercedes S-Class and Maybach customers can customize the roof with any color or pattern, and Mercedes refers to either. The sky is the limit, apparently.

To celebrate this announcement, Mercedes presented two examples to spark the imagination of the possibilities that Designo can offer: a Mercedes S 63 Cabriolet dressed in a Deep Green from its heritage portfolio combined with Drown Nappa lightweight leather and an AMG E 63 S wagon a Steel blue that was exclusive only to the Sprinter van with white stitching to contrast the black Nappa leather interior.

Mercedes did not disclose how much this service adds to the price of the vehicle, but it is safe to assume that it will be significantly higher than a destination fee.
