Mel Gibson has reportedly been removed from his rebuke role in the Netflix sequel to Chicken Run.
The 64-year-old Hollywood actor will not be playing Rocky’s voice in the sequel to the 20-year-old classic animated film, according to sources from the film who were told by The Wrap.
Winona, 48, opened up to the alleged comments in a 2010 interview with GQ, saying that Mel asked her if she was a Jewish “oven killer” at a party they both attended in 1995.
But Mel fiercely denied the claims about alleged homophobic and anti-Semitic comments, and her representative denied a story recently told by the Heather star.
A statement to Variety said: “This is 100% false. She lied about it more than a decade ago when she spoke to the press, and now she’s lying about it.”
Stranger Things star Winona recalled the moment at the party when Mel was said to have made the comments, saying to the Sunday Times and the NY Post, “We were at a crowded party with one of my good friends, and Mel Gibson was smoking a cigarette. ” ”
The actress alleged that the subject of the Jewish faith came up, and she claims that Mel asked her, “You are not an oven evader, are you?”
The term “furnace evader” is said to be a reference to the way in which Jewish prisoners were cremated in Nazi death camps.
But this was not the only inappropriate comment the actor allegedly made the same night, as the Beetlejuice actress said she then asked her gay friend, “Oh wait, am I going to get AIDS?”
Winona also claimed that she later tried to apologize for her offensive behavior.
Mirror Online has contacted Mel’s representative for comment.
