Mel Gibson spent a week in hospital battling COVID-19

Mel Gibson reportedly spent a week in the hospital battling the coronavirus after a spring diagnosis.

The troubled Oscar-winning actor and director tested positive for COVID-19 in April and recovered after a private fight against the virus, the Daily Telegraph reported Thursday.

“He tested positive in April and spent a week in hospital,” Gibson’s representative confirmed to the British newspaper.

The 64-year-old patient was treated with the drug Remdesivir while hospitalized in the US and has since been repeatedly negative for the virus, the outlet reported.

He has also tested positive for antibodies against the coronavirus, according to his representative.

Gibson has again been the focus of controversy recently for his anti-Semitic comments.

Actress Winona Ryder in an interview in June recalled a 1995 party during which Gibson had allegedly asked her if she was an “oven evader” as a way to question whether she was Jewish.

Gibson has denied that the incident happened.

“This is 100% false,” Gibson’s representatives told The Post in a statement.
