Meghan Markle’s Palace Reputation Ranged From Average Nicknames to ‘Unreliable’ and ‘Harry’s Showgirl’

Many people often pretend that getting married to the British royal family would be something of a fairy tale, but for Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, it was anything but that. After a heated romance with Prince Harry, Meghan probably foresaw that the two of them would get married and have always been happy, unfortunately, the people who worked closely with her did not see things that way.

The duchess is notorious for being a hard worker and is strictly regimented, and even in her first few weeks as royal she was known to send emails to her staff before the sun even rose in the morning. Palace staff did not kindly comply with Meghan’s demands, and she was not exactly nice when she lived.

As if the problems Meghan had with the British tabloids, as well as personal problems with her own family, she had a palace reputation that ranged from average nicknames to “untrustworthy” and “Harry’s showgirl.”

Rachel Meghan Markle was born in Los Angeles, California, and grew up living a pretty typical life. She knew, after spending some time with her father, working on the set of the popular sitcom Married with children, that acting was something she wanted to pursue, and after some small supporting roles she began to gain recognition as one of the stars of legal drama Suits.

It was in the summer of 2016 that Meghan was set on a blind date with Prince Harry, and she immediately turned it down. Soon the couple was inseparable, and when things got serious, Meghan grabbed her house in Toronto, Canada, and moved across the pond to live at Kensington Palace with the prince.

In May 2018, the two got married in a beautiful ceremony in Windsor, England, and from there things became increasingly difficult for the newest member of the royal family.

“After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen this year to make a transition by embarking on a progressive new role within this institution. We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent while fully supporting Her Majesty The Queen. It is with your encouragement, especially in recent years, that we feel ready to make this adjustment. We now plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honor our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages. This geographical balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition in which he was born, as well as give our family the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity. We look forward to sharing the full details of this exciting next step with time, as we continue to work with Her Majesty The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge and all relevant parties. Until then, please accept our deepest thanks for your continued support. ”- The Duke and Duchess of Sussex For more information, visit sussexroyal.com (link in bio) Image © PA

Maybe the other members of the royal family are exceptionally easy to work with, or maybe it’s just that they were not used to Meghan and her rigid scheme. However, the palace staff did not carry on with her mother, Doria Ragland’s tradition of calling Meghan “Flower”, as the adorable nickname Prince Charles gave her was “Tungsten.”

Instead, according to a source, even some of her own staff immediately took to calling the duchess some common names, such as “Me-Gain” and “Duchess difficult.” Of course, Prince Harry was not at all happy when he heard this, and we can not imagine that Meghan herself was already so excited.

It seems like there’s more drama for the royals behind closed doors than anyone ever thought, and the raw nicknames came as a surprise to Meghan’s fans.

While we continue to reflect on some of the organizations supported by The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, today we wanted to share more about @TheMayhew, an animal charity that the Duchess patronized earlier this year. Mayhew believes in the power of community and the special bond between humans and animals, which is why their programming is not only focused on rescuing animals, but taking a more holistic approach to shaping the lives of pets and humans. Their TheraPaws dogs and volunteers now visit not only nursing homes and hospitals, but also facilities for mental health and youth groups – expanding the benefits of animal-assisted therapy into needy areas. They also work with the homeless community who help with treatments and check ups for their pets so that the most vulnerable can trust that their pet stays by their side. This year, Mayhew has continued his specialized work abroad, vaccinating more than 30,000 dogs against rabies and other diseases, and empowering local people to improve animal welfare humanely and sustainably. The Duchess is also proud to be creating opportunities for women, with the female-led veterinary team in Kabul neutralizing 2,500 dogs so far this year. As the owner of a long-standing rescue dog, the Duchess of Sussex is proud to be Patron of Mayhew and applauds them for the vital work they do every day. While it’s true that Meghan was called some not-so-nice names, the sad fact is that the drama did not end there. We recently learned of the new biography about Meghan and Harry, called Find freedom, that even other royals were not exactly fond of the Duchess. According to Us Weekly, one senior royal even went so far as to call her “Harry’s Showgirl”, and a palace staff member told a colleague that “there’s just something about Meghan that I do not trust.”

She was even told she was “coming with a lot of luggage” by another staff member. This is all adorable for any royal fan to hear, especially since Meghan was so obsessed with doing a good job in her new role as the Duchess of Sussex, and things did not work out as originally planned.
