Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are teaming up to make their mark in Hollywood.
On Tuesday, sources told Variety that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly “quietly shopping for an idea for a project around the city.”
While the concept is not yet known, the couple took to meetings in June and want to serve them as joint producers.
The outlet noted that although the idea was given to various media companies, the 39-year-old former American actress and the 35-year-old British prince bought their concept from NBCUniversal. Bonnie Hammer, president of NBCUniversal Content Studios, knew Markle from her years as an actress on “Suits.”
Both NBCUniversal and representatives of the couple declined to comment when contacted by Variety. However, a source close to the couple insists that Markle “has absolutely no plans to act.”

Markle’s first job since returning to Hollywood was as a narrator for “Elephant,” a Disney + docus series that premiered in April. The film benefits from Elephants Without Borders, an organization that protects elephants living in Botswana. That appearance came after Markle was spotted talking to Disney President Bob Iger at the London premiere of “The Lion King” last summer.
A rep of the studio also declined to comment on whether Disney executives spoke with Markle or Harry for their latest idea.
In 2019, Harry announced that he was working with Oprah Winfrey on an Apple TV + documentary focusing on mental health. Most recently, he made an appearance in a trailer for the upcoming Netflix documentary, titled “Rising Phoenix,” about the Paralympic Games. That movie launches later this month.
According to the outlet, it is not known if Markle and Harry met with Apple or Netflix to set up their project.
The couple currently live in Markle’s native California with their son Archie.

In January, the couple announced that they would take a ‘step back’ as senior members of the royal family and instead work independently, dividing their time between the United Kingdom and North America.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex said her decision came “after many months of reflection and internal talks.”
“We have chosen to make a transition this year by embarking on a progressive new role within this institution,” the duo shared on Instagram. “We aim to step down as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while fully supporting Her Majesty the Queen. It is with your encouragement, especially in recent years, that we feel ready to make this adjustment.
“We are now planning to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honor our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages,” they continued. “This geographical balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition in which he was born, as well as give our family the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity.”
