A Buckingham Palace spokesman said on Monday: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are continuing their commitment to investigate the circumstances surrounding the allegations, but we will not comment publicly.”
Harry and Meghan did not respond Monday, but a spokesman for the couple called the allegations of hooliganism previously reported by the Times a “defamation.”
“Let’s just say this is what it is – a calculated smear campaign based on misleading and harmful misinformation,” a Sussex spokesman said. “We are disappointed to see this defamatory portrayal of the Duchess of Sussex credited by a media outlet.”
The war of words between the two camps erupted shortly before the broadcast of Meghan and Harry’s discussion with Winfrey, in which the couple lifted the lid on the difficulties of their lives like Royal and made slanderous accusations against the family.
He has taken a different approach, with an article in the Times claiming that Megh had threatened the royal staff.
Palace said their “HR team will look into the circumstances outlined in the article” after which an outside pay firm will be hired. “
“Staff members involved at the time, who have left part of the house, will be invited to participate to see if lessons can be learned.”
During their interviews with Winfrey, Harry and Meghan also said they had complained several times at the palace that their mental health was deteriorating, but they were fired. Meghan revealed that at one point she had considered suicide, claims that have resurfaced in all British media and put the Royals under investigation.
