More than a month after she was shot in the feet after a party in the Hollywood Hills, Megan Thee Stallion said for the first time Thursday night that fellow hip-hop star Tory Lanez was the person who triggered 12 july luts.
‘Yes … Tory shot me. You shot me and you took your publicist and your people to these blogs, “the 25-year-old rapper, whose legal name is Megan Pete, said in an Instagram Live video.” Stop lying. Why lie? I do not understand. ‘
Representatives for Lanez, a 28-year-old rapper and singer whose legal name is Daystar Peterson, did not respond to requests for comment late Thursday, and have not responded to several previous requests for comment from the Associated Press.
Stallion said she did not tell Los Angeles police who came to the scene about the shooting because she was afraid of the legal consequences and feared for her safety.
“I did not tell the police anything because I did not want us to get into any more trouble,” she says in the video.
Lanez was arrested the morning of the incident on suspicion of possession of a concealed weapon and was later released on bail the same day, but is not charged with anything related to the incident. Police and prosecutors say the case remains under investigation.
On Wednesday, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office revealed that it was investigating a potential charge of crime with a firearm in the case.
Stallion, Lanez and others share an SUV after the party in the early hours of July 12th. She said in the video that there was an argument between the people in the car, and Lanez shot her as she tried to run away. She denied rumors that she had hit him in the SUV.

She said from the beginning that she expected them to fully recover, but said in subsequent posts that the shooting, which required her to have surgery to remove the bullets, was “super scary” and “the worst experience of my life”. “was, and she felt blessed to hit the gun where it did.
She consistently refused to call Lanez until Thursday night, when she also tweeted, “Lie one more time and I stopped saving you.”
