Megan Thee Stallion says that person who shot her is Tory Lanez

More than a month after she was shot after a party in the Hollywood Hills, Megan Thee Stallion said for the first time Thursday night that fellow rapper Tory Lanez was the person who triggered the trigger.

“Yeah … Tory shot me,” the 25-year-old rapper said in an Instagram Live video. “It’s not that I was protecting anyone. I was just not ready to talk.”

Representatives for Lanez, 28, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, did not immediately respond to requests for comment Friday and did not respond to previous requests for comment from NBC News.

The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office said this week that it is currently pursuing a case with Peterson for a 12-year incident. The case was referred to prosecutors by the Los Angeles Police Department. Authorities did not say Peterson was the shooter.

Lawyers have asked the police to conduct further investigation before any decision is made on filing charges.

The police case was presented to prosecutors as a criminal attack with a semi-automatic firearm as well as personal use of a firearm. Although the LAPD said that Megan Thee Stallion, whose real name is Megan Pete, was not initially mentioned as a victim in the incident, sources with legislation familiar with the investigation said the female rapper had a gunshot wound to the foot.

In Instagram Live, Pete said she was hit in the foot during the incident and that she initially did not tell police what happened because she was scared.

She said two others in 12 were sitting in a car with her and Peterson – a female friend of hers and one of Peterson’s security guards. Pete was sitting in the front seat, and Peterson was sitting in the back seat, with everyone driving in the car, she said.

“I’m taking the car out, I’m done with arguments. I do not want to argue anymore,” she said. “I’m running away.”

Peterson then shot her from the back seat of the car, they claimed.

“You shot me,” she said.

Police said in a July 15 news release that officials were responding to a report of shots being fired at a residential area in the Hollywood Hills on July 12 at about 4:30 p.m.

Witnesses provided a description of people involved and their car. the release said, officers stopped a car that matched the description provided to them and several people were arrested.

The news report said one person, who was not identified, was taken to the hospital and received medical treatment for a foot injury.

Pete said in her Instagram video, “The police are coming, I’m scared, all this sh– is happening to the police, the police are shooting mom —— for all that, the police are literally killing Black people for no mom —— reason, “she said.

They claimed that the responding officers were “really aggressive” and that a helicopter was hovering over them.

“You think I’m going to tell the police that we … our Black people have a gun in the car?” she asked. “You want me to tell the law we have a gun in the car so they can shoot all of us?”

“I did not tell the police what exactly happened because I did not want to die,” she added. “I did not tell the police anything because I did not want us to get into any more trouble than what we were already aiming to get into.”

At the hospital, Pete said a female officer was rude to her and told her she was being held even though the police had released her.

A police spokesman, William Cooper, declined to comment Friday on the status of the investigation as a response to Pete’s allegations about how she was treated by responding officers.

A doctor at the hospital informed Pete that she had bullet fragments that needed to be removed, the rapper said. She said she downplayed her injuries because she was scared.

She said she tried to protect Peterson. “Even though he shot me, I tried to spare him,” she said.

Peterson was arrested on the morning of the incident on suspicion of possession of a concealed weapon and was released on bail later that day. He is not accused of anything related to the incident.

Pete first publicly said she was shot days after the incident. She has since spoken out on several social media posts, mostly in response to what she said has false stories about what happened.

In an Instagram post dated July 15, she wrote: “I was never arrested, the policemen drove me to the hospital, where I underwent an operation to remove the bullets. I am incredibly grateful that I was alive and that I expected a full recovery, but it was important for me to clarify the details of this traumatic night. “
