Me-wow! Miranda Lambert and husband Brendan McLoughlin rescue a cute kitten on the Texas highway

They are your purring heroes! Miranda Lambert helped rescue a small kitten and shared the story on Instagram on Sunday (June 28).

The country star explains in her mini-gallery legend that she and her husband Brendan McLoughlin were driving on a two-lane highway in Texas when she suddenly slowed down to make a U-turn. When she asked him why he did that, he replied, “There is a kitten on the road and I knew you would kill me if I saw it and it didn’t stop.”

“I think the rescue forms are catching him,” added Lambert, who co-founded the MuttNation dog rescue with his mother, Bev Lambert, in 2009.

The animal lover shared that the two returned to Nashville with the kitten and their two dogs. “This kitty rode 9 hours back to Nashville with us … and he was a great champion,” Lambert continued.

The “It All Comes Out in the Wash” singer also shared that her father adopted the male kitten, a boy named Tequila, and that he is her “new best friend.” The toddler is estimated to be four to five weeks old and weigh only 14 ounces.

Welcome to Tequila the kitty to the family! Lambert excited at the end of his post.

In early May, Lambert shared with fans that during the global coronavirus pandemic, she would be hitting the road in her new Airstream. “Just because you can’t travel and play shows doesn’t mean you can’t travel and make music,” he explained in an Instagram post at the time. Apparently, the health crisis will not prevent him from rescuing animals either.
