MCU fans are disappointed in the final scene

Before Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man stole the show in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Spider-Man was by far the most popular Marvel superhero. In fact, Spider-Man is so popular that he is one of the few superheroes that has alternate versions of himself, like the one played by Miles Morales, who are also popular.

So when after another disappointing Spider-Man movie Sony decided to work with Marvel to bring Spider-Man to the MCU, fans were excited about the idea of more good Spider-Man movies.

This idea was true, like Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: away from home They were good and successful movies. That said, some MCU fans are disappointed with a scene in Homecoming.

Technically, there are two disappointing scenes in Homecoming, but one of them is fun while the other is disappointing on a deeper level.

The first disappointing scene, of course, is the final post-credits scene where Captain America gives a public service announcement about patience. This joke was funny to many fans, but also disappointing at the same time.

The other disappointing scene, however, ruined a character for many fans. This was the last scene of the movie, just before the credits started rolling. This was the scene where Aunt May meets Peter while donning her Spider-Man costume.

The movie boils down to credits, and while this moment was a fun time to end, it’s actually pretty disappointing in the long run.

Why should Aunt May not have found out?

As a Reddit fan said, this moment ruined his character. To be precise, it’s not that this moment destroyed his character or anything, but it’s what Marvel did with his character afterwards that really ruined him.

As that fan said, until that time, Aunt May was portrayed as someone who was very protective of Peter in both Captain America: Civil War and in Homecoming.

But after she discovers that he is Spider-Man, her character changes completely. In ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’, she doesn’t seem so protective anymore, and has instead become a kind of prank character who just pranks and flirts with Tony Stark’s employee. The worst thing is that there doesn’t seem to be any indication of that protective aspect of her character.

Also, as that fan said, since ‘Far From Home’ takes place after Avengers: Infinity War, she is well aware of the fact that she, Peter, and half the universe literally died thanks to Thanos. However, despite knowing that, she doesn’t seem to care or acknowledge it.

What Marvel could have done instead

As always, another reason this scene was disappointing was because of the possibilities of what Marvel could have done. As one Reddit fan put it: “I feel like May knowing Peter to be Spider-Man could create some emotional and heartfelt scenes, but so far they haven’t done much with it.”

Other fans had other ideas of how Marvel could have tackled the situation, but many fans agreed that Aunt May knowing about Peter’s secret identity and really doing nothing about it was a poor choice. In fact, one fan even went so far as to say that, thanks to this misstep by Marvel, Aunt May in Marvel movies “is easily the worst version of Aunt May ever.”

That said, not all fans feel the same way, and some fans think Aunt May’s personality change happened because she realized that Peter, like Spider-Man, can take care of himself.

Still, other fans think he should have at least said or done something about it, but in the movies, he basically doesn’t.
