According to the Illinois Department of Public Health, McHenry County had a decrease in the positivity rate, emergency department visits, and hospital admissions related to COVID-19 during the week of June 21-27.
McHenry County had 26 new cases per 100,000 people, six deaths, a 3.2% positivity rate and 3,040 tests performed, more than 750 tests the previous week reported. The county is experiencing generally stable COVID-19 conditions, according to the latest IDPH data.
IDPH began reporting COVID-19 risk metrics at the county level on June 25 to measure the health burden of the coronavirus in each Illinois county and capture a county’s responsiveness. County metrics are presented as weekly values, Sunday through Saturday of the week.
The first week the state announced risk metrics by county, for the week of June 14-20, McHenry County had 21 new cases per 100,000 people, six deaths, a positivity rate of 4.3%, and 2,282 tests performed. .

McHenry County had 12 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Friday, according to the McHenry County Health Department. The county saw no additional deaths for the fourth consecutive day.
McHenry County has now seen 2,097 confirmed cases of the virus since the pandemic began, through Friday. The county has reported 97 total deaths and two probable COVID-19 related deaths.
