Joe Rogan’s recent Instagram post promoting the upcoming lightweight title fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Justin Gaethje has caught the attention of two of the sport’s biggest stars.
Rogan, who “can’t wait” for UFC 254, called Khabib the GOAT light and hailed Gaethje Nurmagomedov’s “most dangerous challenger” to date.
“It would be impossible for me to be more excited about this fight. The return of light king GOAT, @khabib_nurmagomedov against his most dangerous challenger, @ justin_gaethje. I CAN’T EXPECT SHIT, ”Rogan posted Wednesday.
His post prompted former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion Conor McGregor to leave the following comment.
“Don’t worry, bro. I’d have a hangover,” said McGregor.
McGregor’s comment seemed to prompt Nurmagomedov to leave a message of his own.
“October – Justin and April – GSP,” Khabib said, hinting at a final showdown with Georges St-Pierre after defending his lightweight title against Gaethje.
‘The Eagle’ is slated to take on ‘The Highlight’ in a title unification fight at UFC 254 on October 24, while McGregor, 32, is currently retired.
