McDonald’s CEO says police may be called to customers who refuse to wear masks

McDonald’s seems to take facial masks seriously.

McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski recently spoke about recent decisions the company has made amid the coronavirus pandemic. He specifically suggested that the police be called during situations when a client does not wear a mask.

Kempczinski discussed the mask situation Thursday during an interview with “CBS This Morning.” The company recently announced that it would require customers and employees to wear masks at all McDonald’s locations.

The CEO said: “We are spending a lot of time now in our restaurants making sure to keep our teams safe, making sure to keep our customers safe. We have long demanded that our team wear masks, but we think that in light of what we are seeing, it is wise now that we also ask our customers to also wear masks in the restaurant. “

He continued: “If someone is unwilling to wear a mask and abide by our rules, that could be the place where we could go to the police.”

Employees have reportedly received training on how to explain that masks are required, and according to Kempczinski, that training included downscaling methods.

He explained: “Ultimately, we are not going to ask our crew to put themselves in danger.”

These comments come after recent stories of incidents involving customers at various stores who became aggressive with the face mask rules.

Fox News previously reported that a Florida woman was caught on camera and appeared to yell at Walmart employees and buyers after being asked to leave the store for not wearing a mask.

The woman was trying to break into a Walmart in Winter Springs when she was reportedly asked to leave for refusing to cover her face. Later, the woman accused those wearing masks of being “members of the cult.”

“You are fucking cult members!” he yelled at the guys in the store. “I am not wearing a mask!”

“F — you,” he says as he walks away.
