Matthew McConaughey will release his first book: ‘This is not a traditional memory’


Award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey is releasing his first book, but he says it’s far from a typical celebrity autobiography.

“This is not a traditional memory, or a tip book, but rather an adventure-based playbook in my life,” McConaughey, 50, said in a statement.

The book, titled “Greenlights”, will be released on October 20.

He said, “Adventures that have been meaningful, enlightening, and fun, sometimes because they were meant to be, but mostly because they didn’t try to be.”

According to Crown, who announced the book on Wednesday, the actor known for the films “Dallas Buyers Club” and “Magic Mike” will be based on a newspaper he has kept for 35 years.

“He found not only stories, questions, truths and claims, but also a reliable subject,” Crown announced.

The publisher’s statement continues: “From growing up as an adventurous child in a loving home to Texas rule breakers, to revealing trips to Australia, Peru and Mali, to his early days in Hollywood and the meteoric rise to fame, McConaughey He shares how his life experiences have instilled in him the importance of competent values, the power of new experiences and, as he puts it, ‘either by changing your reality or by changing the way you view it.’ “
