While we’ll have to wait a little longer for Halo Infinity, Micro .ft will soon release a new Halo novel, and the company is promoting it with special quotes read by none other than the voice of Master Chief, Steve Downs. You can hear the famous sound of the downs read below in the seven minute halo: Shadows of Reach in the video below.
The book was written by Troy Denning, who has written numerous Halo novels before, as well as books in the Star Wars, Planescape and Forrestan Rhymes franchises. The story focuses on Master Chief as he participates in an “undisclosed insertion” on the Reich planet with Spartan II soldiers.
The full iDiobook version of Shadows Rf Reach is described by Sean Patrick Hopkins. The book is set to release on October 20, and you can get it through Aud Double, Google Play and other digital book stores.
According to MicroSt., Shadows Rf Reach is not a “necessary reading” to understand the upcoming Hello Infinity. Micros.ft says it’s similar in nature to Eric Nyland’s 2010 novel Halo: The Fall R. F. Rich, a book detailing the early story of the Hello series, going back to before the first Hello game.
