Massive Blaze breaks out while TV host Rachel Ray is home in Upstate NY

A massive fire broke out in the upstate New York home of TV host Rachael Ray.

The famous chef, her husband John Cusimano, and the family’s dog were in their Lucerne home on Sunday, August 9, when the fire started. It left the main house on the property with extensive damage.

Fire crews from across the region responded to the home of Chuckwagon Drive shortly before 7:30 a.m. Sunday, working several hours until the fire was extinguished. The flames completely engulfed the house and could be seen shooting through the roof of the house in a video online.

Ray had been filming coronavirus “The Rachael Ray Show” from her home since the novel. (COVID-19) Pandemic broke out in New York five months ago.

All three were able to safely evacuate from the home, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

“Rachael, her husband John and their dog Bella are safe,” said a statement issued on behalf of Ray. “Their house has unfortunately been compromised and we are in the process of gaining access to how much. I am happy to provide updates as I know.”

A day after the fire, on Monday, August 10, Ray took to Twitter to assure her fans that she and her family were unharmed, even though she has one victim: her phone.

“Thank you so much to our local first responders for being friendly and gracious and storing what they could from our home. Grateful that my mom, my husband, my dog… we are all okay. These are the days that we should all be grateful for what we have, not what we have lost, ‘she posted.

“… I * have * lost * my phone (posted via a team member) Thank you very much for all the well-being, care and outreach, but can not return texts and conversations at the moment …!”
