The starting lineup for South Carolina football is almost set for the season-opening matchup against Tennessee this Saturday.
Gamecox head coach Will Musmp announced during his call-in show on Thursday night that he would get a game-one start against Wales by running behind Kevin Harris.
The Sofmore redshirt is in a down-to-the-wire competition with Sofmore Deshaun Fenwick, as both players were listed as co-starters on this week’s depth chart.
Ines Foot-10, 225-pounder, Hinsville, Ga., Harris played in six games last season and averaged 8.5-yards, 21 times at 179 yards, with 21 type downs.
When Harris starts, Mush MP added that Fenwick and Junior College Led Transfer Z Qu K and Cray White will also play in the first half and the backs that perform best will get more carry.
Mashch MP also announced the launch of two more special teams.
Defensive back Jemmy Robinson will handle top kickoff returns with Shea Smith and Deckeren Joiner will handle punt return duties with an “off” returner.
With those announcements, most of Carolina’s initial lineup is now properly identified with one of the few exceptions.
Jillian Nichols, Jakai Moore or Version Lee will start from the left, while junior Dylan Wonnam will start from the left.
Sofmore Jahmer Brown, who plays a part of the DIM linebacker spot that primarily lands in passing situations, is a game-time decision with an injury. RJ Roderick, the initiator of safety, will probably slip into that game if that place is used.
Gamecox and Wales are scheduled for a kick kick at 7:30 pm on the SEC network at Williams-Bris Stadium.
