PlayStation 4 owners got the chance to get their hands on it Marvel’s Avengers last weekend, but most gamers are much more interested in what comes after the launch. After all, this is when the game as cement needs to be cemented as a title that is not worth investing in.
Hawkeye and Spider-Man are so far the only extra confirmed characters, but some clever gamers have downloaded the Beta’s source code and found mention of War Machine, She-Hulk and Kate Bishop / Hawkeye.
The names are linked to Emotes and Hero Cards, with the latter probably a different name for Nameplates. These can be unlocked by completing Hero Challenges, so there is no guarantee that this trio will be unlucky characters. However, while they have opposites in the game (Iron Man, Hulk, and Clint Barton / Hawkeye), they could be relatively easy to add.
Full reviews for Marvel’s Avengers have not been released yet, but early impressions for the Beta are mixed. The single-player campaign has been criticized for hitting bloodshed, and the multiplayer component is apparently too heavy on microtransactions and is a bit directional.
Fortunately, the final game is expected to differ significantly from the free Beta being tested.
