Mark Ronson’s pranks have ‘Folklore’ and Taylor Swift is all for that


Taylor Swift went to social networks on Wednesday (July 29) to react to a Folklore prank posted by none other than Mark Ronson.

The clip shared by the famous producer shows the two stars in deep conversation at the 2016 Grammys, the year Swift took home his latest album win of the year for 1989. “Taylor actually told me about #folklore in 2016. On the tape. Crazy,” Ronson jokingly captioned the video, which is dubbed with a fake Swift dialogue that reveals he was working on “that ‘Bloodbuzz Ohio’ s – t “with National Aaron Dessner.

Naturally, the viral tweet caught the attention of Swift, who quickly proved he was in on the joke. “Thanks for keeping the secret up to now,” she replied, retweeting Ronson’s manipulated video with various emojis of laughter, crying, and prayer.

As one of Swift’s new collaborators, Dessner co-produced 11 of FolkloreAll 16 independent music tracks, including the first single “Cardigan” as well as the best moments from the album such as “The 1”, “The Last Great American Dynasty” and “Invisible String”. Meanwhile, Ronson has partnered with Lady Gaga multiple times in recent years, producing both his 2016 album. Joanne and the 2018 soundtrack for A star has been born.

Released as a surprise on Friday (July 24), Folklore It has already become the best-selling album of 2020, moving more than 500,000 units in just three days. Less than a week after releasing the album, Swift also doubled the lead single “Cardigan”, releasing a “Cabin in Candlelight” edition of the cozy song with new instrumentation and an alternative music video.
