The Los Angeles Lakers and three-time All-Star Center Mark Gasol have agreed to a two-year deal, multiple outlets reported Sunday night.
The report said the Lakers started the cap room for gasoline through trading center Javal McGee and gave Jordan Bell and Alfonso Mc McKinney a second-round draft pick ahead of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Both players have guaranteed contracts, so the Lakers can keep both players or choose to forgive one or both.
The 35-year-old Gasol is on the cusp of his career after becoming the Memphis Grizzlies divine for 10 1/2 seasons. He spent the last 1/2 season with the Toronto Raptors and was a key figure in the club’s 2019 championship team.

Gasol was initially a second-round draft pick by the Lakers in 2007, but was playing in Spain when a deal was struck with Memphis in February 2008 to bring his older brother Pau to Los Angeles.
Gasol was the first-team All-NBA selection for the 2014-15 season and the second-team selection the following season. He was the NBA Defensive Player of the Year for the 2012-13 campaign.
Over 12 seasons in the NBA, Gasol has averaged 14.6 points, 7.6 rebounds and 4.4 assists in 83 839 career games (24૨24 starts). He has blocked 1,196 shots, eighth among active players.
McGee has spent the past two seasons with the Lakers. The 32-year-old averaged 6.6 points and 5.7 rebounds when he started 68 games last season. He has 1,077 blocked shots, ranking 10th among active NBA players.
Overall, McGinney’s career average is 9.9 points and in 701 games.
