In another indication that DoJcoin may proceed as a meme token going beyond its origins, the Dallas Mavericks will begin accepting cryptocurrency as a ticket and payment for the merchant.
Owner Mark Cube told Deal Book on Thursday that he and his basketball team made the decision, “because we can!” The billionaire businessman added: “Sometimes in business, you have to do fun things.”
This is not the first time the team has accepted cryptocurrency as a payment. In May 2019, the team began adopting Bitcoin “to provide a seamless experience for Dallas Maves global fans to buy merchants”.
