Mark Cuban and Elon Musk tweet support for Kanye West after ‘run for president’ announcement


Business leaders Mark Cuban and Elon Musk shared their support for rapper Kanye West after he tweeted that he “is running for president” on Saturday night.

“If there was a Rank Choice vote available and Kanye West was on the ballot with Joe Biden and Donald Trump, he would have Kanye West ahead of Donald Trump,” wrote Cuban, who mocked an independent 2020 presidential campaign in early of year.

“If you think Biden is a joke compared to Trump, you are not paying attention. It is time to get away from all the memes and look at reality. The response to the pandemic could not be worse and he refuses to take any responsibility or try improve it. That’s disqualifying, “Cuban continued.

West recently posted a photo with Musk while visiting the Tesla CEO in early July.

“You have all my support!” Musk wrote in response to West’s announcement on Twitter on Saturday.

“Now we must deliver on America’s promise by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for President of the United States! # 2020VISION,” West wrote on Twitter on Independence Day.

West has previously presented a presidential race in 2024. Both West and his wife Kim Kardashian West met with President Trump to discuss criminal justice reform at the White House.

It is unknown how serious West is, or if he would run as an independent. Some have pointed out that it is too late for your name to appear on the ballot as independent in some states.
