Mark Andrews is scorned with Madden 21 rating

Although Lamar Jackson is the cover athlete for Madden 21, he did not help the Baltimore Ravens get additional help when it comes to player ratings.

Jackson himself expected it to be higher than his overall rating of 94, and Mark Ingram let EA Sports listen to him after earning an 86 rating for the third consecutive year. Ravens tight end Mark Andrews has yet to say anything about his latest public rating, but there is a chance that he, too, may feel underrated.

Andrews posted an overall rating of 86 at Madden 21, tied with Greg Olsen for the eighth highest in the position.

Now an 86 isn’t horrible by any means, but Andrews’ work in 2019 makes it a bit confusing. The tight end finished seventh in receptions (64), fifth in receiving yards (852) and first in touchdowns (10). However, he still sits below Evan Engram, who is highly talented but only played in eight games in 2019.

Also, Rob Gronkowski is still 95 overall after not playing last season. Yes, Gronk is one of the best of all time, but how did he so easily claim such a high rating?

Madden’s grades are a combination of skill, potential, and body of work, and Andrews seems to have been undervalued in the latter category. However, he started last year as a 79 overall and worked his way up to an 86. So he’ll just have to prove to Madden once again that he deserves more credit.
