The speaker of the House Commons said he was outraged by the “careless” behavior of an MP traveling from Glasgow to London with Covid-19 symptoms, after which he returned home after a positive test.
Sir Lindsay Hoyle said he could not believe that Margaret Ferrier had endangered the health of others.
And he said he did not initially give any direct story to the officers.
Mrs. Ferrier to SNP. Have been suspended by and vowed to resign as MP.
An assistant sergeant at Arms in Commons was told to self-isolate after approaching MS Ferrier while awaiting coronavirus test results while speaking in Commons on Monday.
Ms Ferrier apologized and said she was “deeply sorry” for her actions, but gave no indication as to whether she wanted to continue sitting as an independent MP.
He referred to himself as the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards, as well as the police.
Scottish Prime Minister Nicola Sturgeon, who is also an SNP leader, said in her daily coronavirus briefing that Mrs Ferrier was guilty of “the worst breach imaginable”.
And she said she had made it “crystal clear” that her “careless, dangerous and completely unpredictable” actions meant she should be in the interest of the full integrity of the public health message.
When asked by the BBC if he believed Mrs Ferrier should resign as MP, Sir Lindsay replied: “I would expect the member to do what he did, and the reckless behavior he did, and how the rest of the country would feel.
“It all sends the wrong message. People have to really think about their position on it.”
The president expressed his “shock” that someone might be so careless and said he was “really angry” that “the house is in danger”.
He said Ms Ferrier had put people at “full risk” by traveling on public transport after testing positive for the virus.
He also criticized the speed with which he was informed about the incident – but the SNP did not. Than the MP was convicted.
Sir Lindsay said: “Not to say until Wednesday, that’s not acceptable, and we were hearing different stories, different messages, which made it more difficult to deal with.”
Ruderglen and Hamilton West MPs M.S. Ferrier said she experienced “mild symptoms” on Saturday and was tested for coronavirus.
However, she decided to travel by train to Westminster on Monday before getting the result because she “felt very good”.
She spoke for four minutes in the Conscience Chamber during the coronavirus discussion – tweeting a video of her speech – but later that evening she was told she had tested positive for the virus.
Despite this, Mrs Ferrier took a train back to Scotland on Tuesday, carrying the SNP in the Commons. Whips was told about his positive test on Wednesday.
It is understood she initially told the party she was going home because a family member was ill.
A party spokesperson said that the SNP No Chief Whip on Wednesday M.S. Reported to Parliament officials immediately after reporting Ferrer’s positive test.
But he said that by Thursday he would be in the SNP. Discovered that Mrs. Ferrer had been tested before traveling to London and then traveled back to Glasgow despite knowing she had a positive result.
Ms Sturgeon said she was told only on Thursday afternoon – she soon faced opposition leaders on questions from the first minister in the Scottish Parliament.
She revealed Mrs. Ferrer’s actions while apologizing at about 18:00 on Thursday.
SNP sources initially said they would wait for the outcome of the police investigation into her case before deciding whether to suspend her.
But the party announced his suspension about an hour later, after M.S. Sturgeon tweeted that the MP’s actions had been “uncertain.”
Police Scotland Confirmed that they were contacted by MS FerrierSaying officers were “paying attention to the circumstances” and will link up with the Metropolitan Police Service.
Mrs Ferrer must be able to separate under the law in force on the day of her positive test, when she may be fined up to £ 4,000 for the first offense.
Ian Blackford, SNP leader in Westminster, previously told BBC Breakfast that “no one is above the law” and called on MS Ferrier to “do the right thing”.
SNP MPs David Linden, Kirsty Blackman and Stephen Flyn have also called for his resignation.
Glenn Campbell, the BBC Scotland’s chief political correspondent, said there could be a way to force the elements of the MS Ferrier for her if she refused to give up.
This will require him to be suspended from the Consulate for the first fortnight or ten meeting days by the Standards Committee.
If 10% of registered voters in his constituency sign a recall application within the next six weeks, his seat will become vacant and by-elections will be called.
Five days a week, every week, Nicola Sturgeon appears on TV, taking questions about her coronavirus policies and urging each of us to follow the rules.
So it is a great shame for an MP who has broken the rules – the most law – to be his own.
The SNP is quick to condemn others for breaking the rules. The leader made no attempt to defend or excuse Margaret Ferrier.
This is the first minister whose chief medical adviser resigned back in April for breaking the lockdown rules and demanded the dismissal of Dominic Cummings, the prime minister’s chief adviser, after he admitted to breaking the rules.
He called Margaret Ferrer’s behavior “completely unpredictable.”
SNP MPs publicly called for Ms. Ferrier to resign and Mrs. Sturgeon spoke to her this morning and made it clear that she should resign as MP.
But the problem for the SNP is that they can’t force Ruderglan and Hamilton West MPs to quit their jobs. They have already removed the party whip and suspended him from the SNP. But they can do it.

At the time, she said their actions “weakened the sacrifices being made to lockdown to protect each other from the coronavirus” and described their condition as “unforgivable.”
Scottish Conservative leader Douglas Ross said Mrs Ferrier’s “reckless” actions had endangered the lives of others, and called into question the SNP’s timeline of events.
Mr Ross said: “The SNP says it only found out about an irregularity on Thursday. That means we want to accept that the SNP got a positive test of Margaret Ferrier on Wednesday – and asked nothing. .
“SNP’s timeline is full of holes and any reasonable person can see it.”
Shadow Scottish Secretary Ian Murray also joined the SNP. From M.S. Demanded answers to “very serious questions” surrounding Ferrer’s behavior.
The Scottish Labor MP said his “catastrophic, careless actions” put his life in danger.
For the first time, Mrs. Ferrier was a member of the SNP. He was elected MP in 2015, but lost the Labor seat in 2017 before winning last year’s general election with a 5,230 majority.
