one day. There is one full bracket left in the CBS Sports Bracket Challenge. After being canceled last spring due to a coronavirus outbreak – the NCAA basketball tournament is back for the first time since 2019 – and March has certainly brought general madness with it on the bracket. Only one player from the CBS Sports Bracket Challenge correctly selected all 16 winners on the first day.

The first major Domino fall came in the southern region where No. 15 seed Oral Roberts stunned No. 2 seed Ohio State 75-72 in a full shock on Friday. Just how big is the shock? Of the users of the CBS Sports Bracket Challenge, 97% of the Buccaneers advanced to the Golden Eagles in the first round, and for good reason – since the field time expanded to 64 teams in 1985, it is only the ninth time the No. 15 seed has knocked out the No. 2 seed. To make matters worse for some of those OSU supporters, 4% of all Bracket Challenge players won the bookies the whole thing.

After that, the number of full brackets was fairly small and that number continued to whitewash for the rest of the day with more bounce. No. 12 seed Oregon State defeated No. 5 seed Tennessee, No. 11 Syracuse defeated No. 6 seed San Diego State in the Midwest Regional and No. 13 seed North Texas defeated No. 4 seed Purdue in the South Region.

March Madness is really back, sure and surprised to move on to this year’s NCAA Tournament.
