Manchester United fans believe Brandon Williams would benefit from a loan move next season.
Williams debuted in the first team with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in September, as a substitute during the EFL Cup victory against Rochdale. Just a few days later, he started against AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League and impressed during his Premier League debut in the victory against Brighton.
The 19-year-old was rewarded with a new contract in October as a result of his impressive performances on the left side. Williams’ emergence has allowed Solskjaer to use Luke Shaw as a central defender at times this season with the young man operating as a winger.
Despite his impression during his decisive season, Williams has started just one Premier League game since the restart and struggled during the FA Cup loss to Chelsea.
With Shaw still the first choice on the left flank, many supporters believe the United Academy graduate could benefit from a loan season in which he would get guaranteed minutes for the first team.
Williams could appear for United in their crucial Premier League match against Leicester on Sunday, with both sides aiming to end the season at Champions League venues.
The defender believes that Solskjaer’s men will travel to King Power Stadium with confidence.
He said MUTV after the draw against West Ham: “We have a result that has taken us above Leicester and we are going there with full confidence.”
“We are going to win and not to be nervous, just doing what we have to do.”
