Man shot by Secret Service is a former boxer with rap blade

The 51-year-old man whose shooting by the Secret Service disrupted President Trump’s press conference is a 6-foot-3 former licensed boxer who was previously accused of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, according to a report.

Myron Berryman is accused of abusing a law enforcement officer after he approached a Secret Agency agency Monday night while she claimed to have a weapon.

The officer shot Berryman in the torso when he “crawled into the posture of a shooting, as if about to shoot a weapon,” officials said.

Berryman, who has lived in Dayton, Ohio; Forrestville, Maryland; and, most recently, Wheeling, West Virginia, was charged in 2012 with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct in Prince George’s County, the Washington Post reported.

He tried to take his case to trial, but it ended in a lawsuit in 2013, according to the newspaper.

Berryman’s sister said she could not believe the big man was threatening anyone.

‘They said he had a weapon? He walked up to him? ‘the sister told the news in a telephone interview about the condition of anonymity because she was concerned about the sensitivity of the case.

“It’s crazy. He is a man of God. He would have no weapon, sure. His weapon is the word of God, ”she said, adding that she was shocked by the news that he had been hit outside the White House.

She speculated he may have taken part in protests outside the White House, where protesters have been gathering since the assassination of George Floyd in the custody of Minneapolis police.

“Myron always encourages everyone,” she said. ‘He has never had anything negative to say. He always encourages people. ”

Authorities are trying to find out if Berryman has a history of mental illness. No weapon was recovered from the scene of the shooting, officials said.
