A 35-year-old man was arrested in connection with Saturday’s New York City attack on “Honey, I Shrink the Kids” actor Rick Mornis, officials said.
The suspect Marquis Ventura was found by transit officers in a subway system near Ect૨m Street and Broadway, a few blocks from Oct. The 1st attack took place near Central Park West, 70th Street, near Sergit. Anwar Ismail said.
Police did not identify the victim as Moranis, but did mention the attack outside the actor’s Upper West Side building. Mornis in a “I Love NY” sweatshirt was punched by a man and attacked in a security video.
Mornis, 67, fell to the ground after a punch and later took himself to hospital. It doesn’t look like the actor did anything to provoke his attacker.
At the time, a spokesman for Moranis confirmed that he had been the victim of the attack. “It’s okay but thankful for everyone’s thoughts and wishes,” Troy Bailey said after the attack was made public.
Police said Ventura was arrested and later arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault, including the allegation that he “intended to inflict serious bodily harm on another person.”
Further details about the suspect, including whether he retained a lawyer, were not immediately reported.
