LSU senior cornerback Kary Vincent Jr announced Monday that he is qualifying for the college football season and will begin training for the NFL combined.
Vincent becomes the second player of the defending national champions to choose from. Neil Farrell Jr., a projected starter on defensive end, was selected last week, according to reports.
SEC teams open Monday preseason camp. The conference is scheduled to begin on a 10-game, only conference schedule starting Sept. 26. LSU will host Mississippi State on that date.
Vincent was the start of LSU’s Nickelback last season and finished second on the team in interceptions with four. He posted a message of thanks on Monday to LSU and its fans.

Several high-profile capitals have made similar decisions in recent weeks, including Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons, Minnesota wide receiver Rashod Bateman and Miami defensive lineman Gregory Rousseau.
On Saturday, Vanderbilt coach Derek Mason told ESPN that several players have been selected for the season, including senior linebacker and leading tackle Dimitri Moore.
