Lovecraft Country Comic-Con trailer shows off its biggest monster yet

Lovecraft CountryHBO’s upcoming supernatural horror show has a new teaser ahead of a San Diego Comic-Con 2020 panel. This really leans toward otherworldly monsters looming over the show.

The series follows a black Chicago family as they investigate their family history, which intersects with a racist cult that has Lovecraftian roots. And every part of that is on display here.

The trailer features brief moments with each member of the main family, and especially with Atticus, the main character in the story, as they have creepy encounters with cultists, ritual sacrifices, and the deepest horror of post-WWII American racism. But all those things were highlighted in the other trailers of the show. What we haven’t seen yet is the massive and scary monster that is featured in the closing moments of this trailer.

If most of Lovecraft CountryTrailers have highlighted the show’s subtle ties to the famous horror author, then he makes connections as direct as possible. At the end of the trailer, a giant squid-faced winged monster with tentacles appears in all its Cthulhu-style glory.

Lovecraft Country It is based on a book by Matt Ruff and was created by Misha Green. The show comes to HBO with impressive science fiction and horror prestige, thanks to executive producers JJ Abrams and Jordan Peele. The series will premiere on HBO on August 16. Lovecraft Country It also has a panel during Comic-Con @ Home 2020 on Saturday night, which could include new information before its debut next month.
