Louisiana to New York Travelers Will Be Fined For Failure To Comply With Coronavirus Restrictions | News

Travelers from Louisiana to New York will be fined $ 2,000 if they don’t meet that state’s coronavirus restrictions, New York officials said Monday.

If you traveled from Louisiana, New York officials said, you must be quarantined for 14 days when you enter New York.

The restrictions are for travelers arriving by plane, train and car, authorities said. Louisiana is one of 19 states on New York’s restricted travel list.

People flying to New York from Louisiana have to complete a State Department of Health traveler form on the plane and deliver it to “enforcement teams,” authorities said. If passengers leave a New York airport without completing the form, authorities said, they could be fined $ 2,000 and “could be brought to a hearing and ordered to complete the mandatory quarantine.”

Louisiana travelers arriving in New York by train and car must complete the form online. Here is the form.

New York said states on the restricted list have a seven-day moving average of positive tests of more than 10% or the number of positive cases exceeds 10 per 100,000 residents.
